Focus on Foccacia


Sweet Production is best known for our sweet offerings, but we also bake a variety of savories. One very popular new offering is our yeasted Italian flatbread. Known as focaccia (or fougasse in France, hogaza in Spain and lepinja in the Balkans), it is a popular item for banquets and buffets. Serve it in bite size pieces, in larger portions to complement a Mediterranean entree, or use it for for specialty sandwiches. 

We offer Parmesan, Spinach, Sun Dried Tomato, Olive, Herb and Plain Focaccia. The possibilities are   ...  virtually limitless and we are delighted to work with you to develop a unique creation, (anchovies perhaps?). We offer 3, 4 and 6 oz burger rolls, 4 inch squares and in full and half sheets.

For those of you interested in etymology, the word foccacia comes from the Latin panis focacius, in reference to the fireplace which was the "focus" of the Roman home. The bread itself is though to have originated before the Romans, with the Etruscans or Greeks. Perhaps it is time to focus on foccacia, your customers will be glad thay you did.
